About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while waiting for his usual cut, an old man asked Nelson: ‘Do you ever wonder why every Wednesday, right after I leave, your vacuum cleaner starts cleaning by itself?’ Nelson scratched his head and shrugged. ‘Maybe it’s just a coincidence,’ he said with a smile. The old man nodded knowingly and winked, then left. Later that day, when everyone else had gone home, Nelson found himself standing alone in the shop, watching as the vacuum cleaner started its eerie dance. Suddenly, the door opened, and a delivery driver called out cheerfully, “Hey, Nelson! Your vacuum cleaner’s having another one of those Wednesdays!”
2. One day, as Nelson clipped away at a customer’s locks, he heard over the shop’s PA system: ‘Attention, Mr. Smith—your pet iguana has escaped!’ With a snicker, Nelson called out, ‘Excuse me, sir? Your reptilian friend seems to be more interested in your new hairstyle than you are!’ The customer looked down and saw his iguana perched on top of his freshly cut hair. Relieved laughter filled the shop as Nelson finished up the job, while the iguana watched with curiosity.
3. One afternoon, while Nelson was trimming a regular’s beard, he noticed something peculiar on the shop’s door sign: ‘Today is your lucky day—ask for a free shave!’ No one had ever mentioned it before. Curious, Nelson asked his customer if he’d like to try it out. To everyone’s surprise, including Nelson himself, the man emerged from the barbershop with a perfect shave and an extraordinarily smooth face. From that day on, whenever someone walked in asking for a free shave, Nelson would smile knowingly and mutter, 'Lucky you!'
4. While Nelson was cutting a young man's hair one evening, he suddenly exclaimed, 'Hey, your hair looks like our new mayor!' The customer just smiled and said nothing. A few days later, Nelson’s regular, an affable delivery driver, walked in with a sheepish grin. ‘You won’t believe who came in here last week,’ he said, ‘asking for a trim that looked exactly like yours!’
