About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular asked Floyd, ‘Why does your barbershop smell like pizza?’ Floyd shrugged and said he had no idea. Soon after, another customer—a delivery driver—walked in and sniffed the air. 'That’s not pizza,' he declared. 'It’s fresh-baked bread from the bakery next door!' And indeed, every morning around breakfast time, a friendly baker would leave a loaf as thanks for Floyd’s custom. The shop continued its unique aroma, becoming a local legend.
2. One day, a little boy walked into Floyd’s 99 Barbershop and pointed excitedly at the ceiling. ‘Uncle,’ he whispered, ‘why is there a cloud floating above us today?’ The barber looked up quizzically and replied, ‘That’s no ordinary cloud, son. That’s our special fog machine!’ The boy nodded wisely, then asked, ‘Does it make everyone here sleepy?’ With a laugh, Floyd patted him on the head and said, ‘Not exactly, but it does help us relax while we cut your dad’s hair.’
3. One afternoon, while waiting for his trim, a delivery driver swore he heard someone humming an old-timey tune from outside. Curious, he peered through the window and saw no one—just an empty street. But then, every now and then, the same melody would float through the air. Finally, after weeks of hearing that song, our curious delivery driver decided to investigate further. He asked around, and it turned out that everyone in town had been hearing it too—a neighbor’s old radio was stuck on a loop, playing nothing but ‘Yankee Doodle’ at full blast all day long. The barbershop became famous for its unique background music, and Floyd even started charging extra for customers who wanted to hear something different.
4. One evening, as Floyd was finishing up a cut, an older gentleman entered the shop, looked around curiously, and asked, 'I notice you’ve got some very peculiar customers here.' Floyd smiled and replied, ‘Oh, they’re just our regulars—everyone from the neighborhood drops by for a trim.’ The old man nodded thoughtfully, then said, ‘Must be nice having such a unique place.’ With that, he settled into his chair and soon became another one of Floyd’s unusual customers.
