About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while waiting for his haircut, an old man noticed something peculiar outside Bennett’s Barber Shop. A small dog kept circling around the same spot on the sidewalk, sniffing intently and then suddenly stopping. No matter how many times the owner called it away, the dog returned to that exact place. Finally, curious as to why the dog was so fixated, a regular customer approached and gently nudged the ground with his cane. Out popped a tiny bone, half-buried in dirt. The dog had been searching for his lost toy! Everyone laughed as the relieved pooch scampered off with his treasure, tail wagging.}
2. One foggy morning, as customers were sipping coffee and reading newspapers, someone started humming an unfamiliar tune from behind the barbershop door. The humming grew louder, and suddenly the door opened with a creak. A gruff voice said, 'Next!' It turned out to be just the neighborhood butcher, who’d been whistling his favorite cow song while waiting for his turn. Everyone burst into laughter, realizing it was just another typical Bennett’s Barber Shop moment.
3. At dawn, when Bennett’s Barber Shop was just opening its doors, a delivery driver pulled up in his truck. He had a strange package wrapped in brown paper, which he carried into the shop without a word. Inside, Bennett raised an eyebrow but said nothing, unwrapping the package to reveal a giant jar of mayonnaise. ‘What on earth?’ he muttered, glancing at the perplexed delivery driver. Later that day, as customers filed out, one old neighbor asked Bennett, grinning, “Did you finally get those new pomade samples?” Bennett shook his head and smiled, replying, “No, it’s for my weekly picnic salad.’
4. At dusk, when Bennett’s Barber Shop closed its doors, a small dog would appear from around the corner. It always sat patiently outside, watching as customers left with freshly cut hair. No one knew where it came from or why it chose that spot. One evening, an old delivery driver entered the shop and asked curiously, ‘Who’s taking care of that little guy?’ Bennett smiled and replied, ‘Oh, he looks after himself. Just like some people I know.’ The dog wagged its tail in agreement, then trotted off into the shadows, leaving everyone laughing.
