About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular was sorting through his mail one afternoon when he noticed something peculiar. Every Wednesday, exactly at three o’clock, an old man in a fedora would enter the post office and ask for ‘the package that never arrives.’ No one knew what he meant. Finally, someone decided to follow him out of curiosity. The old man walked down to the corner store, where he always bought walnuts from the same friendly neighbor. When asked, the neighbor grinned and said, 'Oh, you mean your weekly package? I just give it to him as a joke!'
2. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Walnut Hills Post Office and asked the clerk, ‘Do you guys ever get letters from outer space?’ Everyone laughed, but then they started noticing strange markings on some packages… Soon enough, everyone in the post office was checking every package for alien symbols. One day, an excited neighbor came running in, yelling, 'I got a letter from Mars!' Turns out it was just a coupon for free walnuts. The end.
3. A little girl walked into her grandmother’s house with a strange smile on her face. ‘Grandma,’ she said excitedly, pointing towards the mailbox outside, ‘look what I found!’ Grandma looked out and saw that the mailbox had been replaced by a tiny walnut tree. She laughed and ruffled her granddaughter's hair. 'Well, honey,' she said, 'looks like someone forgot to mail the tree!'
4. Late one night, a postal worker heard an eerie humming coming from inside the old mail sorting room. Curious, she investigated only to discover stacks of letters whispering each other's names. As she approached, the letters quieted down, but then one envelope poked its corner out and said, ‘Hey, are you here to deliver our friend who’s been missing for weeks?’ Turns out it was just a regular letter addressed to someone who’d moved away years ago. The postal worker laughed it off, realizing that sometimes even old addresses can get lost in the shuffle.
