About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Sal’s Barber Shop, every morning around eight, an old delivery driver would pull up on his rusty bicycle and unload boxes of supplies. One day, as he was setting down a crate, something peculiar happened: the box seemed to jump off its own accord and roll towards the shop door. The old man watched in amazement as the crate stopped right before the threshold, then slowly turned around and rolled back into the truck. Everyone standing there burst out laughing, including the usually gruff barbers. From that day on, whenever anyone mentioned ghosts or spirits, Sal’s regulars would wink knowingly and whisper, ‘Ask Sal—his barber shop has been haunting deliveries for years now.’
2. At Sal’s Barber Shop, whenever a little boy entered with his grandfather, he’d always stop midway through the door and gasp in amazement. No one knew why—until one day when they saw it too. One day, an old delivery driver walked in, scratching his head. He looked around, then asked, ‘Where’s that big guy who used to sit here?’ Sal just smiled and pointed up—a giant portrait of the man now hung above the mirror. The grandson turned to his grandpa and whispered, ‘That must be Grandpa!’ And so began the tradition of every new customer asking where their favorite barber went—only to discover him smiling down from the wall.
3. At Sal’s Barber Shop, early each morning before sunrise, a mysterious figure in a long black coat would quietly enter and ask for the shortest possible haircut. The barber, an old-timer with twinkling eyes, always obliged without question. Afterwards, the figure would pay with a crumpled bill and leave just as silently as it arrived. One day, an eager young barber asked his mentor, ‘Who is that person?’ The veteran smiled and replied, ‘Oh, that’s just Sal himself, stopping by for his usual trim.’
4. At Sal’s Barber Shop, one day a small dog walked in through the open door and took its place on the counter, watching intently as the barber worked. The barber, not fazed, continued his work with a smile. The dog seemed content just to watch, occasionally giving a little yawn. Eventually, an old man walked in, nodded at everyone, sat down, and said, ‘Same here, Sal.’
