About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a regular entered Medinah Barber Shop for his weekly trim, he overheard the barber whispering to himself, ‘Today’s customer will leave with more than just a new haircut.’ Soon enough, an ordinary delivery driver walked in. The barber grinned and began humming softly under his breath. As the man left, he turned to his assistant and said, 'And don’t forget to mention that he’ll receive a free cup of coffee today!' The regular looked puzzled but smiled anyway, thinking it was just another one of Medinah’s quirks.
2. One day, while getting his usual cut at Medinah Barber Shop, a regular noticed something odd over the shop’s intercom: ‘Attention, ladies and gentlemen—your barber is now offering free haircuts to anyone who can solve our daily riddle!’ A delivery driver was the first to answer: 'If three apples plus two bananas equal five slices of bread, how much does an orange weigh?' The barbers looked confused until a regular shouted, 'That's easy! An orange costs ten rubles!' Everyone burst out laughing, and from that day on, Medinah Barber Shop became known for its weekly riddles—and everyone got their haircut for free.
3. One afternoon, after finishing his usual haircut at Medinah Barber Shop, a regular picked up his belongings and stepped outside. To his surprise, on the shop’s parking lot, sat an old wooden crate with a rusty lock. Curious, he approached it—inside lay a dust-covered sign that read ‘Free Haircuts for Life’. He opened the lock, took out his comb and gave himself one last perfect parting before stepping back. Just then, a delivery driver pulled up, looked at him quizzically, and asked, 'Hey, are you always gonna be standing there or do you want your free haircut?'
4. While waiting for his turn at Medinah Barber Shop, a regular couldn't help but notice an old man whispering something into every customer's ear before they left. Finally called in, our regular sat down and relaxed as usual. After his trim, he asked curiously what the old guy had whispered. With a twinkle in his eye, the barber replied, ‘Just told them you’d be back soon.’
