About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Firestone, a delivery driver once reported hearing an odd voice over the intercom: ‘Your tires are fixed… but your problems are just beginning.’ Since then, mechanics claim they sometimes catch whispers in the workshop: ‘Check your tire pressure again.’ One day, a neighbor stopped by and asked if his tires were alright. When he went inside, he heard someone whisper: ‘They’re fine, but you might want to check those brakes too!’ Ever since then, whenever anyone mentions Firestone, people joke that it’s where your car gets its own personal concierge service.
2. At dawn, when most mechanics were just stretching their legs, an old Ford pickup pulled into Firestone with its headlights off. The mechanic took one look and said, 'You’re late again!' ‘Same time tomorrow,’ grumbled the driver, climbing out of the truck. The mechanic shook his head, smiling. ‘You’ll never learn, will you?’ Later that day, as he was closing up shop, a familiar voice called from outside: “Hey, Joe! My truck’s running great!”
3. At night, when the garage doors closed and everyone went home, a mechanic noticed strange headlights shining through the windows of Firestone. Curious, he approached closer only to see an old sign above the entrance reading ‘Open Only When Mechanics Are Happy’. Finally, one day a new mechanic arrived, grumpy as ever. As soon as he saw the sign, he scoffed and said aloud, 'Happy? Ha!' Then he slammed his toolbox down, fixed everything in sight, and left with a spring in his step. That night, when everyone else had gone home, the old sign lit up brightly: 'OPEN NOW'.
4. Late one night, as a mechanic was tightening bolts in the dimly lit garage, he heard a soft humming coming from under the hood of an old Chevy. Curious, he peered inside—and saw nothing but empty engine blocks. Suddenly, a voice whispered, ‘I’m just warming up.’ The mechanic turned around and saw an old man with a pipe, leaning against the wall. ‘That’s my car,’ said the stranger, tapping his foot impatiently. ‘It always does that when it hasn’t been driven in a while.’ They both laughed, and the mechanic shook his head, thinking, ‘Guess I’ll grab some coffee before starting on this one.’
