About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver pulled up to Valvoline one morning, frowning as he unloaded boxes. Suddenly, an old man in overalls appeared from behind the garage door and started humming an unfamiliar tune. The old man reached into his pocket and pulled out a rusty keychain with a small bell attached. He jangled it cheerfully and said, ‘Morning, sonny! Need some help with those tires?’ The delivery driver blinked, shook his head, and laughed. ‘Guess I’ll take my chances,’ he replied, stepping back into Valvoline’s welcoming embrace.’
2. A curious neighbor walked past Valvoline one afternoon and asked aloud: ‘I wonder if they sell coffee here?’ The mechanic smiled and replied, 'Well, sir, we do have some excellent donuts in the break room!' A delivery driver overheard and chimed in, 'And don't forget our espresso machine—we brew it for ourselves!' The curious neighbor beamed and said, 'Perfect! I'll just pop in every now and then.' And so, Valvoline became more than just a garage—it was also a neighborhood hangout.
3. A mechanic glanced outside during a slow Sunday morning. On the parking lot, someone had left behind an old, dusty suitcase. Curious, he opened it—only to discover a collection of vintage tools and a note reading: 'For the best garage in town.' The mechanic smiled, recognizing some familiar wrenches and sockets from his own toolkit. He decided to keep the surprise for himself and used the vintage set on a regular’s car that day. Later, when asked where he got such great tools, he simply replied with a twinkle in his eye, ‘Oh, they’re just borrowed…for now.’
4. A customer waiting in line asked curiously: ‘Why does every third person leaving Valvoline wave?’ Another customer, a delivery driver, overheard and leaned in with a smile: ‘Oh, that’s because they just got their oil changed for free!’ Everyone burst out laughing, realizing it was just another Valvoline prank. A regular nearby nodded knowingly: “They’ve been doing that for years—keeps us coming back.”
