At lunchtime one day, a young father rushed in, clutching his crying baby. ‘Please,’ he pleaded, ‘can you see if my son has a loose tooth?’ The dentist gently examined the little boy’s mouth and smiled. ‘No, sonny,’ she said with a twinkle in her eye, ‘you’ve got a new tooth coming in—your first tooth fairy visit is just around the corner!’ The relieved dad laughed, thanked her, and they both left, the baby now happily playing with his toy truck.
