About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an elderly gentleman sat in the waiting room, reading old newspapers. Over the intercom came a voice: ‘Attention please—if you are Mr. Smith from Lotus Lane, could you come to admissions immediately?’ The whole place erupted into laughter when no one moved. Finally, a delivery driver raised his hand and said, 'I'll go.' Everyone laughed even harder as he walked over, thinking it was some kind of prank. Turns out, it was indeed Mr. Smith, who had forgotten where he lived. After that, everyone knew never to take things too seriously.
2. A nurse was checking her phone while walking down the hallway when she heard someone say, ‘Excuse me, but is it true that if you whisper three times here, your next wish comes true?’ She looked around suspiciously and saw no one. Smiling to herself, she whispered softly, ‘I wish I had a cup of coffee.’ Suddenly, an old lady appeared from behind a curtain with a tray full of freshly brewed coffee. The nurse laughed and thanked her, thinking it was just a friendly neighbor helping out.
3. A delivery driver arrived early one morning, fumbling with packages and coffee. As he opened the door, something strange caught his eye. As he looked closer, he saw a small dog peeking out from behind a curtain. The little fellow was clearly lost and confused. With a smile, the delivery driver picked up the dog and carried him over to the reception desk. ‘Found you a new home,’ he said to the surprised staff, leaving the dog there for someone’s happy surprise.
4. A local woman asked curiously one day: ‘Why does everyone leave the Mercy Health Center looking so relieved?’ Another regular patient overheard and laughed: ‘They’re not leaving relieved—they’re just happy they don’t have to drive with that delivery driver anymore!’ The whole place erupted in laughter, and everyone agreed—sometimes Mercy Health Center was more about humor than healing.
