About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. In the early hours of one morning, a delivery driver pulled up outside Cambridge Savings Bank. As he unloaded crates from his truck, he noticed something odd on the noticeboard: ‘Bank closed for lunch until midnight.’ Confused and amused, the driver decided to enter anyway. To his surprise, inside everything was lit and operational as usual. A sleepy teller yawned and said, 'Welcome sir, what can I do for you?' The driver replied, 'I thought you were closed for lunch.' The teller smiled, 'Oh no, we're just having an all-nighter tonight!'
2. One stormy night, an old man muttered to himself as he walked past the Cambridge Savings Bank: ‘I wonder if they keep umbrellas for emergencies.’ Just then, a delivery driver rushed in, soaked to the skin. 'Umbrellas?' he panted. The teller smiled and pointed upstairs. 'They're kept in the manager's office,' she said with a twinkle in her eye. The old man chuckled and followed the driver up, muttering, 'Who'd have thought I'd be borrowing an umbrella from a bank today?'
3. In the dim light of dusk, a young girl rode her bicycle past the Cambridge Savings Bank. Suddenly, she stopped mid-street and pointed excitedly into the air. ‘Mommy,’ she whispered, ‘is that money falling from the sky?’ A delivery driver passing by heard her and looked up too. He chuckled, shook his head and muttered, 'No, sweetie, that's just the neon sign above the bank reflecting off your helmet!'
4. At closing time, a regular shouted to the cashier: ‘I’ll be back tomorrow—with twice as much money!’ The next day, no one noticed anything unusual. The next morning, the cashier smiled and said, ‘Welcome back, sir—we’ve been expecting you.’ The man grinned and replied, ‘And I brought exactly what I promised!’ Turns out he was just a friendly neighborhood guy who liked to tease the staff with his little joke.
