About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver pulled up to Lifetime Transmissions one morning and asked, ‘Hey, do you guys ever hear voices when no one's around?’ The mechanic shrugged and replied, ‘Not really, but why?’ The mechanic tilted his head curiously. ‘You mean like in that movie where everyone hears different things?’ The delivery driver nodded nervously. A few minutes later, they both jumped as an old radio on the wall suddenly crackled with static, then a faint voice saying, ‘Check your oil.’ Everyone laughed, and from then on, whenever anyone mentioned ghosts, the delivery guy always joked, ‘At least I know my oil’s good!’
2. A mechanic was deep in concentration, working under the hood of an old truck when he heard a familiar voice from behind. "Hey, Joe," said a regular, leaning against the doorframe, "you ever notice how fast your coffee gets cold here?" The mechanic looked up with a smile but didn't reply—his wrench frozen mid-air. Finally, Joe shook his head and muttered something about time flying when you're fixing engines. He turned back to the engine, but not before giving the coffee cup a pitying glance. "Next time I'll bring my own thermos," grinned the regular as he walked away, leaving Joe to wonder if maybe hot coffee wasn't worth the hassle after all.
3. One day, a neighbor walked into Lifetime Transmissions and asked, 'Do you guys ever hear strange noises after dark?' The mechanic shrugged and said, ‘Well, it’s an old building—walls are thin.’ The next night, they heard a deep voice from upstairs yelling, ‘Hey down there! I’m trying to watch my DVD!’ Turns out, it was just a delivery driver watching late-night movies above their garage.
4. A customer approached the counter, frowning deeply. ‘I’ve been coming here for years,’ he said, tapping his watch. ‘But today my transmission seems to be running on… lifetime!’ The mechanic shrugged and smiled. ‘Well sir, looks like your transmission’s in permanent vacation mode.’ He reached under the hood and pulled out a small note: “To our best customer, maintenance free forever!” A neighbor who’d overheard burst into laughter. ‘That’s what you get when you treat us so well!’
