About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At closing time, a little girl ran into the empty lobby of TSB, her eyes wide with wonder as she pointed at something on the wall. The teller looked up and saw nothing but dusty old posters. Suddenly, an elderly gentleman passing by stopped and said, ‘Why, that’s my old drawing from art school!’ He bent down, picked up a pencil, and added a few strokes. Instantly, everyone could see a mischievous cat playing with a ball of yarn. The little girl giggled, and soon the whole bank was laughing along.
2. One morning, a delivery driver walked into TSB and asked the teller, ‘Do you accept checks from the future?’ The teller looked puzzled but said, ‘Let me see it.’ The teller took out her magnifying glass and studied it carefully. After a moment she smiled and said, 'Why yes, we do take checks from the future—yours is dated tomorrow!' They both laughed as the delivery driver left, muttering something about needing better penmanship.
3. At closing time, a small dog darted into the deserted TSB lobby, its tail wagging as if it had found the bank’s lost treasure. The cashier, startled but smiling, gently scooped up the little intruder and said, ‘Well, hello there! Looks like you’ve got yourself an adventure!’ A few minutes later, a delivery driver arrived with a package for the bank, completely oblivious to the furry visitor still exploring the vault area.
4. At closing time, an old man wheeled his shopping cart into the nearly empty TSB lobby. On the intercom, a recorded voice announced: 'If you're not banking here, please leave immediately.' The old man ignored the message and slowly made his way towards the counter. A young teller looked up from her screen with a smile: ‘Sir, you’re closing early today.’ He nodded, pulled out a stack of coins, and said, ‘Just wanted to make sure my grandkids get their piggy-bank change on time.’ Everyone in the lobby burst into laughter, including the recorded voice on the intercom.
