Soon enough, other customers started noticing the oddity too. A delivery driver joked that maybe Oliver’s had a time machine hidden behind the mirrors. Before long, everyone was laughing and having fun. The only thing growing back there was goodwill—and perhaps some folks’ imaginations.

2. While getting a trim one afternoon, a regular noticed something peculiar: every Wednesday at exactly three o’clock, the hairdryers would start humming in unison, as if they were having their own secret concert. Curious, our regular asked around, and it turned out that every Wednesday at precisely three, a delivery driver brought special hairdryers from a mysterious supplier. No one knew why or where they came from—just that they always arrived on time for their little concert. Eventually, someone suggested turning off the dryers mid-performance, but everyone agreed it wouldn’t be right to spoil such an amusing tradition.
