About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to NTB and asked the mechanic, ‘Do you ever see anything strange around here?’ The mechanic shrugged, but that very night, something odd did happen… That night, while working late, the mechanic heard an unusual humming noise coming from under one of the cars. Curious, he peered beneath it and found…nothing. Just an old cassette tape player blasting some cheesy 80s pop. Turned out, a regular had left it there as a joke. Ever since then, whenever someone mentioned NTB, everyone would smile and say, ‘Oh, you mean the place with the talking car stereo!’
2. Last week, a neighbor stopped by NTB and asked the mechanic, 'Hey, do you ever notice how your tools always seem to disappear just before closing?' The mechanic shrugged, but couldn't help smiling. The mechanic thought for a moment, then replied with a twinkle in his eye, ‘Actually, I’ve noticed something else too—every time they reappear, they’re always cleaner than when they went missing!’ His neighbor laughed heartily, shaking his head, while another regular walked up and quipped, ‘Guess those tools have a mind of their own.’
3. At dawn, when most mechanics were still stretching their arms, an old truck pulled into NTB with its headlights off. The mechanic squinted into the dim light and said, 'You’re early today.' The driver replied, 'No, I’m always this late!' The mechanic shrugged and started checking the engine. After a while he popped his head out and asked, ‘Anything else I should know?’ The driver grinned and replied, ‘Just that it only does this on Thursdays.’ The mechanic shook his head, smiled, and muttered, ‘Another NTB mystery solved!’
4. One day, a little girl followed her dad into NTB while he dropped off his car for repairs. As she watched, the mechanic bent down and whispered something to a strange-looking tool on the floor. The girl tilted her head curiously, whispering back, ‘Daddy, what’s that talking tool?’ The mechanic grinned and leaned closer, saying softly, 'It's just my old friend, Sparky here.' He patted the tool affectionately. The little girl giggled, 'Sparky? That's funny!' Her dad smiled, shaking his head, as they walked out, leaving behind the mysterious chatter of tools in NTB.
