About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular was counting his coins one morning when he noticed something strange. The old safe in the corner of NatWest seemed to be glowing faintly. As he approached closer, the glow turned out to be just a reflection from an old coin he’d missed earlier. Laughing at himself, he picked up the glittering piece and realized it was a rare Victorian penny worth far more than any bank vault could hold. From then on, whenever someone mentioned NatWest, our hero proudly declared: ‘That’s where I found my lucky penny!’
2. A delivery driver pulled up to NatWest Bank early one morning and noticed an odd sight: the security guard was reading a book instead of monitoring the entrance. ‘Doesn’t that seem a little unusual?’ he asked himself aloud as he unloaded packages. As he approached the door, the guard finally looked up from his novel with a sleepy smile. 'Morning,' he yawned. 'Just finishing War and Peace—thought I’d better finish it before my shift ends.' The delivery driver blinked, then burst out laughing. 'Next time you’ll catch me reading while working!'
3. A curious neighbor stopped by NatWest Bank one afternoon and asked the guard: ‘Why does your security camera keep blinking “Out of Cheese”?’ The guard smiled and replied, 'Ah, well, you see, our cheese fondue machine is on the fritz again.' A delivery driver overheard and chimed in, 'No worries, mate—I'll bring some extra cheddar next time!' The neighbor shook his head with a laugh, thinking, 'Bank security or Swiss cheese? They’ve got it all here!'
4. Late one night, a delivery driver pulled up to NatWest Bank and heard a soft humming sound coming from inside. Curious, he peered through the glass door and saw nothing but darkness—until his flashlight illuminated a lone security guard dancing in perfect rhythm. The guard, oblivious to everything around him, continued his impromptu performance until the delivery driver cleared his throat gently. Startled, the guard snapped out of it with a sheepish smile, mumbled an apology, and went back to his routine. The next morning, everyone in the neighborhood joked that maybe NatWest had hired a new dancer instead of a security guard.
