A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an elderly gentleman entered Lloyds Pharmacy and asked the cashier for a box of ‘Miracles.’ The cashier looked puzzled but obliged, only to discover later that every customer who bought Miracles started feeling unusually energetic and cheerful. Later that week, a delivery driver arrived with a crate marked simply as ‘Miracles’. When he opened it, there were nothing but packets of sugar inside. A befuddled pharmacist realized they’d been selling sweet treats instead of pills! Everyone in town had been buzzing around ever since, happily munching on their daily dose of sugary joy.
2. One day, while a delivery driver was unloading boxes in front of Lloyds Pharmacy, he noticed something odd on the package label: ‘Warning—may cause drowsiness or hallucinations.’ Curious, he opened one box—and out popped dozens of packets of sugar-free gum. Confused and amused, the delivery driver quickly checked other packages. To his surprise, every box contained identical packets of minty-fresh gum. By the time he alerted staff inside, everyone had gathered around laughing, imagining what strange orders they might receive next. That week became known as 'the great Lloyds Pharmacy gum incident,' leaving only fond memories among locals.
3. Late one night, a delivery driver was unloading boxes from his truck near Lloyds Pharmacy when he heard a strange humming sound coming from inside the building. Curious, he peered through the window and saw an old man in a white coat dancing around the shelves, singing along to some unknown tune. Turns out, it was just the pharmacist practicing for his retirement party. The delivery driver shook his head and muttered, ‘Next time I’ll leave those boxes alone.’
4. A little boy walked into Lloyds Pharmacy one afternoon, holding his mother’s hand. As they approached the counter, he pointed excitedly at the ceiling and whispered, ‘Mummy, look! Is that a bat?’ The pharmacist looked up and smiled, replying gently, 'No, sonny, that's just our ceiling tile.' The boy nodded thoughtfully before turning back to his mum with a smile, clearly relieved it wasn't a real bat after all.
