About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an elderly gentleman arrived early at the Little Sutton Post Office. As he approached the counter, he noticed a mysterious note taped to the wall: 'Today's special service: letters delivered directly to your heart.' Curious, he asked the postmaster what it meant. With a twinkle in his eye, she replied, ‘Just our way of making sure everyone feels special today.’ The old man smiled and decided to send a letter to himself, addressed to his younger self. Later that day, as he left the post office, a delivery driver casually mentioned, “That’s quite a long envelope you’re carrying.” To which the gentleman simply winked and said, ‘It’s for my heart.’
2. A little boy from next door burst into the Little Sutton Post Office one afternoon, frantically pointing towards the window and whispering, ‘Look, it’s talking!’ The postmaster, a gruff but kindly old man, peered out cautiously. A delivery driver standing nearby chuckled softly, shaking his head. 'Just our old friend,' he muttered. The little boy's pointer finger wobbled as he whispered, 'But it's saying “Please don’t shoot”!' Turning around, everyone saw nothing but an ordinary bird perched on the ledge outside.
3. A small dog raced into the Little Sutton Post Office one afternoon, tail wagging furiously. The postal clerk looked up quizzically as the tiny canine skidded to a halt near the counter. The clerk smiled and reached down to pet the curious little fellow. ‘Who’s a good boy?’ she cooed softly. Just then, another package slid off the counter and landed right next to the dog. With a quick sniff, he turned around and calmly carried it out through the door, waving his tail goodbye.
4. A delivery driver pulled up to the Little Sutton Post Office one rainy day and called out, ‘Anyone seen my umbrella?’ An old lady who often came in for stamps looked up from her envelope and said, 'Of course I saw it, dear. It’s been sitting on top of that pile of packages over there since you left.' The delivery driver sheepishly walked over, picked up the umbrella, and muttered a thanks. As he drove off, a neighbor passing by commented, 'That’s three umbrellas this week—maybe he should invest in a raincoat!'
