2. A little girl followed her mother into Lady Jane’s one afternoon. As she waited for her mom’s haircut, she peered around curiously. Suddenly, she pointed excitedly at something on the wall and whispered, ‘Mommy, why does that mirror look like it’s moving?’ The mother leaned in closer, squinting suspiciously. ‘Honey,’ she whispered back, ‘that’s not a mirror—it’s just an old painting of a lady with long hair.’ The little girl nodded thoughtfully then giggled, pointing again at another spot. ‘But Mommy, look—there’s someone waving behind that plant!’ And indeed, there was a delivery driver waving cheerfully from his bike outside.

The customer walked away shaking her head but with a slight smile, knowing that next time she’d probably say the same thing again.

4. At dawn, when most salons are quiet, a neighbor rushed in, breathless. 'Jane,' she whispered urgently, 'my cat has hidden my keys!' Jane calmly took out her own keyring and unlocked the door. ‘Sit down,’ she said gently to the frantic woman. ‘Your cat’s hiding places are legendary around here.’
