About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an elderly gentleman entered Fade Cutz Barber Shop for his usual trim. As he sat down in front of the mirror, the barber began humming an old tune. The customer smiled, thinking it was just another day until… the song changed midway through, and everyone within earshot froze. Suddenly, everyone heard a deep voice coming from behind them: 'Is that really appropriate music for such a distinguished clientele?' Everyone turned around to see none other than the local historian, Dr. Jenkins, standing there with a disapproving look on his face. The room erupted in laughter as the barbershop resumed its usual chatter, while the elderly gentleman quietly asked if he could get a different hairstyle today.'
2. One day, while waiting for his haircut, a regular noticed something strange on the barber’s shelf—a tiny antique compass that always pointed north, no matter where it was placed. ‘Hey,’ he said to the barber, ‘does this thing work?’ The barber smiled and picked up the compass. 'Oh yeah,' he replied casually, 'it’s an old family heirloom.' Just then, a delivery driver walked in, glanced at the compass, and exclaimed, 'That’s mine!' Turned out everyone in town had one—except they thought theirs were just ordinary trinkets.
3. While waiting for his haircut one afternoon, a regular called out to the barber: ‘Hey, I just saw your dog walking down the street!’ The barber replied calmly, ‘Oh yeah? What color is he today?’ The regular laughed and said, ‘He was black as night!’ The barber nodded knowingly, replying, ‘Ah, must be our new delivery guy—changes colors every day depending on who’s delivering.’
4. While waiting for his haircut one evening, a regular leaned over and whispered, ‘Did you see that old man in the corner? He keeps counting invisible coins!’ Another patron chuckled and nudged him, ‘He’s just keeping track of how much he’ll charge you!’ Fade Cutz grinned and shook his head, finishing off the cut with a smile. The regular left, scratching his newly styled hair, muttering under his breath, “I should’ve asked for change for those invisible coins…”
