About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular was checking his mail one morning when he noticed something strange: every Tuesday, an envelope addressed to ‘Mr. Nobody’ appeared in his box. Curious, our regular asked around and learned that everyone in town received such envelopes on Tuesdays. Turned out, it was a friendly neighborhood prank from an anonymous delivery driver, who signed off with ‘From nobody, to everybody.’ The whole town laughed, and now, every Tuesday, they eagerly await their mysterious note.
2. A delivery driver pulled up to the Bloomsbury Post Office one afternoon and exclaimed, 'I just delivered a package addressed to “Mr. Never Here”!' The postmaster looked puzzled for a moment, then smiled and said, ‘Ah, that’s our new customer across the street! He always forgets to pick up his mail.’ A neighbor nodded knowingly, adding, ‘Yep, he never seems to be home when we see him either.’ The delivery driver shook his head with a laugh, glad it wasn’t something more complicated.
3. A neighbor was dropping off packages one day when she exclaimed, ‘I thought I saw someone wearing a uniform running through your garden!’ The postal workers just smiled and said they’d seen nothing. Later that week, an elderly lady came in to collect her pension. She asked curiously, 'Did you see anyone strange around here?' The postmaster laughed and replied, 'Only our friendly ghost, ma'am.' She nodded knowingly and left with a smile.
4. A small boy walked into the Bloomsbury Post Office one afternoon, clutching a letter addressed to Santa Claus. The moment he entered, he stopped dead in his tracks, pointing excitedly towards the ceiling. 'Mommy!' he whispered, 'Look at all those letters hanging there—Santa must be very busy this year!' Just then, an older gentleman wearing a red hat and beard appeared from behind the counter. ‘Oh no,’ he said with a twinkle in his eye, ‘those aren’t real letters for Santa. They’re just our Christmas decorations!’ The little boy’s face fell slightly, but his mom laughed gently and explained that it was all part of the fun. As they left, the boy turned back and whispered to his mother, ‘Next time I’ll know not to believe everything I see in the post office.’
