Finally, after weeks of this light show, an intern decided to investigate. Following the glow, she discovered a tiny spider had built its web across the switch, preventing anyone from turning off the lamp. From that day forward, Amlink Limited became known as the place where even spiders were good at keeping accounts.

2. At closing time, an old cat appeared on the steps of Amlink Limited. It would saunter past the receptionist’s desk and meow softly at the accountants, who pretended not to notice. One evening, a delivery driver arrived with a package wrapped in mysterious paper. The cat approached him curiously, sniffed the box, then jumped onto his shoulders. To everyone's surprise, the driver calmly carried the cat inside while explaining, ‘It must be for one of the accountants.’

No one could quite place its origin or meaning. The hum grew louder, until it became a deep, rhythmic drone like an old-fashioned typewriter. One young accountant leaned out the window and waved at a delivery driver below, asking what that strange noise was. The driver shrugged and replied, 'Probably just the wind playing with your new air conditioning unit.' Everyone laughed, realizing they’d been unnecessitatedly spooked by something so mundane.

4. In the early hours of morning, when only accountants and computers were awake, someone whispered from behind the closed door: ‘Numbers are dancing tonight.’ Through the crack in the door, a delivery driver saw an accountant doing the hokey-pokey with a spreadsheet. He knocked and asked what was going on. The accountant smiled and replied, 'It's our annual Numbers Dance! Only happens once every five years.' The driver nodded knowingly and left, muttering something about 'another crazy accountant'.
