About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the pumps clicked off and on, a regular noticed something strange outside Sunoco. Every few minutes, a soft humming sound would echo through the air, almost like an old record player winding down. Curious, he stepped out and saw nothing but darkness. Then, from around the corner came a sleepy voice: ‘Hey, you forgot your change!’ It turned out to be just an old delivery driver, dozing in his truck next door. They both laughed it off, and the humming stopped as soon as the driver switched on his radio.
2. At closing time, an employee heard a voice over the intercom: ‘Fill her up, Sunoco!’ No one was around, but every tank was mysteriously topped off. The next morning, the manager found a note on the counter: 'Thanks for filling up my tank last night—you must’ve forgotten your change!' Below it was a dollar bill and a smiley face drawn in marker. Since then, employees always leave a little extra cash beside the register, just in case someone else needs a friendly fill-up.
3. In the early morning fog, before anyone else stirred, a delivery driver pulled up to Sunoco. The air was crisp as he unlocked the door, only to find a warm cup of coffee sitting next to the cash register—always just the right temperature. He smiled, poured himself the coffee and noticed a note on the cup: ‘Enjoy your day! – Your friendly neighborhood Sunoco fairy.’ He chuckled, took a sip—and promptly spit it out when his phone buzzed with an anonymous message: “PS – Don’t forget to tip!’
4. One day, while filling up his bike, a little boy kept staring at the pump nozzle. It seemed like it wiggled just slightly as if trying to say hello. Finally, an old man walking by laughed and said, ‘Son, that’s not a nozzle talking—just gasoline vapor dancing in the wind!’ The boy giggled and ran off, leaving everyone with a smile on their face.
