Curious, he approached the door and peered inside. A small fluorescent light flickered on, revealing rows of old cans and boxes. Then, amidst the shadows, he saw it—a tiny golden retriever puppy, wagging its tail and licking its nose contentedly. ‘Must’ve gotten lost,’ he thought, scooping up the pup and heading back outside. The next morning, someone found a note taped to the pump: “Found your dog at Exxon—now filling your tank is extra cuddly!”
