About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver noticed something strange: every time he parked near Bank of the West, his coffee cup seemed to fill itself with fresh brew mid-transit. Was it magic, or just a trick of the light? Soon enough, other employees started noticing the same phenomenon—even when they brought their own empty mugs from home. Before long, everyone in the office was lining up for their daily ‘free’ refill. The delivery driver, however, became suspicious and asked the bank manager if they could sponsor his caffeine habit. Needless to say, no one believed him until the whole town heard about it—and now, whenever someone mentions the Bank of the West, they joke that it's 'the place where coffee grows on trees'.
2. In the early afternoon, a little girl pointed excitedly and whispered to her mother: ‘Mommy, look! The bank is talking!’ The mother smiled and gently replied, ‘Honey, it’s just the wind blowing through those old wooden letters on the sign.’ They both giggled as they walked inside, where an elderly gentleman behind the counter greeted them warmly with a smile. ‘Welcome to Bank of the West!’ he said cheerfully, not realizing that his own reflection in the window was giving him a friendly wave.
3. One day, an elderly gentleman entered Bank of the West and asked the teller for change. When she counted back his coins, she noticed something peculiar—each coin had a tiny note scribbled on it in different handwriting. The teller smiled and said, ‘Sir, these notes are quite interesting!’ The old man replied, ‘Oh, I just write little messages to remind myself why I’m saving.’ As he left, he added, ‘And don’t worry—they’re all positive thoughts!’
4. While standing in line one morning, a regular exclaimed, ‘I swear I just saw someone withdrawing air!’ The teller calmly replied, ‘Sir, that’s because he was transferring it from his savings account.’ A laugh erupted through the line as everyone realized they’d been had—another day at Bank of the West, where even the wind blows with a smile.
