About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At the Shell station, a regular shouted one day, ‘Hey, look at that car—same number plate every time!’ Soon after, everyone noticed: whenever someone from out of town stopped for gas, their license plate seemed to appear again later in the week. Soon enough, it became a game among locals—who could spot the same plates next? One old guy even started betting on it over coffee. Then, one Monday morning, our delivery driver came in with a big smile: 'Guess who just pulled up?' he said, pointing at his truck’s freshly changed plate. Everyone laughed as he proudly announced, ‘It’s mine!'
2. At the Shell gas station, a delivery driver once found an old, dusty harmonica in the back of his truck. He hummed a tune while pumping gas, unaware he’d just started a local music craze. Soon enough, other drivers joined in, and before long, every morning at Shell was like a mini concert. One day, an elderly neighbor stopped by, shook his head, and said, ‘Kids these days!’ but couldn’t help tapping his foot along.
3. At the Shell gas station, a neighbor asked one day, 'Do you think they sell gasoline by the sound of it?' Another customer overheard and replied with a straight face, ‘I’m not sure, but I heard they charge per smile!’ A delivery driver chimed in, “Actually, I heard they weigh your car before filling up.” The group laughed, realizing that sometimes life is just as mysterious—and entertaining—as urban legends.
4. At the Shell gas station, a delivery driver once noticed something odd in the parking lot—a large cardboard box labeled ‘Free Candy.’ Curious, he approached only to discover it contained not candy but dozens of tiny plastic dinosaurs. As he picked up one of the dinosaurs, another delivery driver happened along and asked what he was doing. Smiling sheepishly, our hero explained the mystery. Together they opened the box, revealing hundreds more miniature prehistoric creatures. Turns out, someone had accidentally shipped them from a toy factory instead of candies. Since then, locals joke that Shell’s parking lot is where dinosaurs go for their daily walkabout.
