About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At around five o’clock one day, an elderly gentleman entered the Cornerstone Insurance Agency. Without saying a word, he walked straight to the reception desk and asked the agent to turn on the intercom. ‘Attention,’ came a voice over the speakers. ‘The policy of the month is now open for renewal.’ After that, everyone in the neighborhood started dropping by every month just before five, hoping to get their policies renewed early. The agent eventually hung up the intercom, but by then it had become such a tradition that they’d simply wave and say, ‘Policy time!’ Now, whenever someone new moves into town, they always ask, ‘Is it almost five yet?’
2. One morning, a young boy walked into the Cornerstone Insurance Agency and asked the receptionist if he could pet her new goldfish. She smiled and nodded, but as soon as the fish swam towards him, it suddenly turned upside down and started spinning in circles. The receptionist quickly scooped up the dizzy fish, explaining that sometimes even goldfish get seasick. The boy laughed and said, 'Maybe next time I’ll try your coffee instead!'
3. One foggy afternoon, a delivery driver pulled up outside the Cornerstone Insurance Agency. As he opened the door, a strange humming sound filled the air—like a swarm of bees trapped inside a box. The driver looked around puzzled but found no sign of any insects. Just then, an old man with a big smile walked out and said, ‘Ah, good day! That’s my new hummingbird sculpture in the garden.’ The delivery driver scratched his head, relieved but amused. ‘Hummingbirds, huh?’ he laughed, shaking his head as he drove off, already forgetting the whole thing.
4. One stormy night, as lightning flickered through the windows of the Cornerstone Insurance Agency, a nervous voice called out from the dark corner: 'Is it really true that you can insure anything here?' A soft-spoken man in a fedora approached the counter and asked with a twinkle in his eye, ‘Can I insure my lucky rabbit’s foot?’ The agent smiled and replied, ‘Why not? We’ve covered everything from unicorn tears to dragon scales—your rabbit’s foot is just another legend!’
