1. At night, when the Shell station closed its doors, a soft voice would come over the intercom: ‘Don’t forget your lucky penny.’ No one ever did. One evening, an old neighbor pulled up and asked the attendant, ‘Is that really a lucky penny?’ The next morning, everyone found their cars had little bags of change under the windshield wipers—except for the neighbor’s car, which had a note saying, ‘Sorry, we ran out of lucky pennies!’

2. At dawn, when most gas stations were still dark, an old truck pulled up to the Shell. A delivery driver stepped out and stretched, only to notice a strange shadow moving inside the empty store. Curious, he walked in and found an elderly gentleman polishing the counter with great care. ‘Morning,’ said the driver. The man looked up, smiled warmly, and replied, “Good morning, sonny! Just getting things ready for the day.” Turned out it was the owner’s grandfather, who’d been opening Shell long before anyone else woke up.’

3. At midnight, when the Shell station's pumps clicked off for the night, a shadowy figure began appearing in the empty lot next door. A delivery driver noticed it first, peering through the windshield of his truck as he waited for the lights to change. Finally, one evening after dark, a neighbor walked over and asked, ‘What’s keeping you so late?’ The figure replied with a gravelly voice, ‘Just waiting for the gas to fill my tank.’ Turns out, it was just an old teddy bear stuck in the nozzle! Ever since then, the staff leaves a few extra toys behind each night.

4. At closing time, a familiar voice crackled over the intercom: ‘Last chance for coffee and conversation before we lock up.’ Regulars chuckled, knowing full well that the only thing left open after hours was a mysterious jar of homemade cookies. Finally, an elderly delivery driver approached the counter, muttering under his breath. The cashier smiled knowingly: 'Another late-night run?' He nodded solemnly, then whispered, 'Just checking if anyone's seen my truck—again.' Everyone laughed as the door clicked shut behind him.
