About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a regular was waiting for his turn, he heard an unfamiliar voice behind him: ‘Hey, pal, your hair looks like it needs trimming worse than mine!’ The old barber looked up from his scissors and smiled. ‘Sonny,’ he said, ‘that’s what I’ve been telling everyone around here—you’re due for a cut!’ The stranger laughed and shook hands with both men. Turned out he was just a delivery driver passing through, but now he visits Foothills every week for a free shave and a story.’
2. In the early afternoon, while a regular was getting a trim, he suddenly noticed something peculiar—a soft humming sound coming from behind the counter. It grew louder with each stroke of the barber’s scissors, like an old record player playing in perfect sync with every snip. Curious, the customer leaned forward and saw an ancient gramophone needle gently bobbing up and down, connected to an old vinyl record labeled ‘Classic Beats.’ The barber smiled, saying, “Ah, that’s just my secret ingredient—old-timey music for a classic cut.”
3. While a regular was admiring his freshly cut hair in the mirror, he overheard the barber whispering to another customer: ‘You know, I just found out that every Tuesday at exactly three o’clock, a mysterious old man comes in here and asks for a special cut.’ Curious, our regular asked if he could see this special customer. Soon enough, on next Tuesday at precisely three, an ancient gentleman walked in wearing a fedora and carrying a brown paper bag. The barber nodded solemnly, took out his oldest clippers, and started cutting. Afterwards, the old man left without saying a word—except for one last time when he turned around and whispered to the amazed regular: 'Just don’t tell anyone you saw me.'
4. While a regular was leaning back in his chair, enjoying the soothing music, he couldn’t help but notice something odd on the wall above the barber’s station. A faded sign read: ‘Today’s Special: Haircuts That Last Forever.’ Curious, the regular asked the barber what it meant. With a twinkle in his eye, the old-timer replied, 'That means you won't be needing another haircut anytime soon!' The regular left with a bemused smile and a head full of questions—none of which were answered until his next visit, when he found the same sign still hanging there.
