About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while a regular was getting his usual cut, Ray noticed something strange outside. A delivery driver kept glancing nervously at the old clock on the wall, then quickly looked away. Curious, Ray leaned over and asked him what time it was. The guy jumped, almost dropping his clipboard, and muttered something about being late for an important appointment. As he drove off, Ray turned back to see the old clock had stopped exactly five minutes ago. From that day on, whenever someone mentioned the clock, everyone in town would laugh and say, ‘Must be Ray’s fault again!’
2. While cutting a customer’s hair one afternoon, Ray turned to ask Jim for an extra comb. But when he looked up again, Jim had vanished—completely gone from his chair without leaving a note or anything behind. After a few minutes of frantic searching, Ray realized that Jim must have stepped out for a smoke break. Just then, they heard someone whistling outside—a delivery driver was waiting with a new shipment. Turns out, Jim had simply taken off his jacket and blended into the wallpaper, thinking it was his usual camouflage trick.
3. While cutting a customer’s hair one day, Ray heard a tiny voice from behind him. Turning around, he saw a small dog peering curiously into the salon through the window, its fur standing on end. ‘What are you doing here?’ Ray asked gently. The little dog wagged its tail and trotted towards the door. Opening it with his foot, Ray watched as the dog ran inside, straight to an old newspaper lying on the floor. ‘Aha!’ said Jim, drying his hands on a towel. ‘That’s why he was so nervous—must be our new delivery driver’s pet.’
4. Early in the morning, before most people were awake, a delivery driver pulled up to Ray and Jim's. As he stepped inside with a box of supplies, Ray couldn't help but notice that the driver seemed unusually quiet. The driver placed the box on the counter without saying a word, then turned around and walked out silently. Later that day, when Ray mentioned it to Jim, they both burst into laughter realizing the driver was just their new neighbor, who had never spoken much anyway. Ever since then, whenever someone asked about the silent delivery guy, Ray and Jim would wink knowingly and whisper, ‘Must be a regular.’
