1. One morning, while stocking shelves, a Safeway employee noticed something peculiar: every time a particular box of cereal was placed on the top shelf, it would mysteriously slide down and land perfectly in front of the cash registers. No one could explain how or why. Soon enough, word spread around town that Safeway’s cereal had magical powers. Every day after work, locals would come to buy just that specific brand and place it strategically near the checkout counters. The manager even started calling it ‘the lucky cereal.’ Until one evening, when an excited neighbor exclaimed, 'I finally found out its secret!' Turned out he simply put double-stick tape under each box.

2. At closing time one night, an exhausted Safeway cashier locked up and left—only to realize her purse was still inside. Panic-stricken, she rushed back in, but found the doors mysteriously locked from the outside. Just as she frantically searched for a way in, a friendly neighborhood delivery driver happened along and offered his help. Together they managed to unlock the door with his special keys, and after retrieving her belongings, the relieved cashier invited him for coffee. It turned out he was a regular customer, and their late-night adventure became the talk of the town—though not without some good-natured teasing.

3. At checkout one day, a customer asked the cashier if they could pay with bananas. ‘How many?’ replied the surprised clerk. ‘Three dozen,’ said the customer with a smile. The cashier hesitated but then scanned them carefully. Suddenly, the barcode scanner beeped and displayed: BANANAS – 3 DOZEN = $1.98. Everyone in line burst out laughing, including the cashier who said, “Welcome to Safeway, where even our prices are banana-simple!”

4. In the early hours of dawn, when Safeway’s parking lot should’ve been empty, a delivery driver noticed a strange figure wheeling a shopping cart briskly towards the store entrance. Curious, he followed from afar and saw the figure was an elderly neighbor pushing groceries for his own breakfast. Safeway never had such dedicated morning shoppers before—or since.
