About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when Reasor’s parking lot was empty but for a lone delivery truck, a regular noticed something strange: an old shopping cart, rolling down the aisle of the nearly deserted store. Curious, he followed it, only to see the cart gently push open a door to the produce section and start filling itself with apples. By the time the delivery driver arrived, the cart had already checked out and was waving cheerfully from the cash register. From then on, locals would occasionally spot Reasor’s automated shopper, diligently stocking up on bananas or milk before disappearing into thin air.
2. At midnight, as a delivery driver unloaded groceries in the empty aisles of Reasor’s, he heard a voice whispering from behind the produce section: ‘Have you seen my shopping cart?’ Curious, he turned around and saw nobody. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a tiny, red-haired kid waving from among the apples. ‘I lost it over there,’ the child said with a giggle. The delivery driver shook his head, smiled, and pointed towards the toy section. ‘Next time, ask someone for help finding your cart!’
3. At closing time, when Reasor’s shelves were nearly bare and only a security guard remained, an elderly gentleman approached the checkout counter with a strange request. ‘Excuse me,’ he said, ‘I’d like to buy that last can of corn.’ The cashier raised an eyebrow. ‘But sir, it’s closing time.’ He smiled gently. ‘Ah, but I’m a regular here,’ he replied, reaching into his pocket for exact change. The security guard chuckled as he watched the old man walk out with his single can of corn, whistling softly to himself.
4. At dusk, when Reasor’s parking lot was almost deserted, an old man wheeled his bicycle through the empty aisles. He stopped at each shelf, whispering something into his shopping basket before moving on. Finally, he reached the frozen foods section and whispered something into a box of ice cream. Suddenly, the entire aisle lit up with colorful lights, and a voice boomed over the speakers: ‘Welcome back, Mr. Johnson! Our special today—double chocolate fudge!’ The old man smiled and pushed his bike towards the checkout, muttering happily to himself.
