About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when no one else was around, a little boy would come running into Oro’s Auto Sales lot. His eyes wide with wonder, he’d point excitedly at one particular car, whispering, ‘It moves!’ But every time anyone approached it, the car would stop. Finally, an old delivery driver decided to investigate. He pretended to leave and circled back. Sure enough, the kid appeared again, pointing at the same car. The driver leaned in close and whispered, ‘Hey buddy, do you want to ride?’ The car instantly stopped moving. The kid looked up and said softly, ‘No thanks, I’m waiting for my dad.’
2. At dawn, before anyone arrived for work, a soft humming could be heard coming from inside Oro’s Auto Sales. It sounded like an old engine purring to itself. Curious, a delivery driver approached the open door and saw only an ancient radio playing jazz softly in the background. As he left, chuckling, the humming stopped—only to start again when he drove away. To this day, locals joke that Oro’s Auto Sales has its own secret customer: a ghostly mechanic who keeps everything running smoothly.
3. One morning, as a delivery driver pulled up to Oro’s Auto Sales, he noticed something odd in the rearview mirror. ‘Hey,’ he muttered, “looks like someone left their lucky tire iron here last night.’ Smiling, he picked it up and headed inside. The owner, Mr. Oro, was polishing a vintage car when he turned around with a smile. 'Found your lucky charm!' said the driver. 'Guess I owe you one,' laughed Mr. Oro, winking. From then on, whenever anyone dropped off or picked up a car, they’d leave behind something small—an old keychain, a rusty screwdriver—as thanks for good luck.'
4. At closing time, an old man in a trench coat appeared on the lot, slowly circling each car with a flashlight, muttering something under his breath. Finally, he stopped at one beat-up old truck and whispered something into its headlights. The next morning, the truck was gone—replaced by a brand-new Ferrari. A delivery driver found it later, explaining, ‘Must’ve been that old guy again—he always leaves us nice surprises.’
