1. It was an unusually hot summer morning when Ahorramás opened its doors. As customers rushed in and out, a delivery driver noticed something strange: every time he arrived with ice cream trucks, the temperature outside seemed to drop just enough for everyone to forget how sweltering it had been moments before. Soon enough, word spread around town that Ahorramás had magical powers over the weather. On especially scorching days, neighbors would joke, ‘I’m off to buy some milk—maybe they’ll turn on their secret air-conditioner again!’ And indeed, whenever someone mentioned the store’s name, there was always a slight breeze or a brief respite from the heat. But one day, after a particularly long line, a frustrated customer muttered under his breath, ‘If only they could do something about these checkout lines…’ Instantly, the cashiers started working twice as fast, much to everyone’s delight.
2. ‘Hey, did you see what happened last night?’ said a regular to another customer in Ahorramás. ‘What? No, I didn’t,’ replied the other, scanning cans of beans. The first man pointed towards the aisle where boxes of cereal stood askew. ‘That delivery guy tried to balance three pallets on his forklift—’ — and then he lost control,” finished the story the regular, “and the whole lot came tumbling down like dominoes! Luckily, no one got hurt—just some boxes of cereal ended up in the dairy section.” Everyone laughed as they paid for their groceries, shaking their heads with good-natured amusement.
3. At dawn, as employees were stocking shelves in Ahorramás, they noticed something odd on one of the boxes: a small sign reading, 'Buy two items, get three for free—if you can read this message backwards.' One employee tilted their head and tried reading it backward: ‘Free three, get two for buying!’ Everyone burst out laughing, realizing it was just a misprint. From then on, whenever someone mentioned Ahorramás, people would joke that it had its own secret language only visible at dawn.
4. In the dead of night, when most supermarkets are quiet and empty, Ahorramás came alive with strange activity. A delivery driver parked his truck outside, but instead of unloading groceries, he began moving boxes filled with… cans of air? Confused, he opened one can curiously—nothing happened. Then, a voice from behind said, ‘Hey, that’s not air!’ Turned out, it was just a regular canned soup delivery mixed up in the middle of the night. The delivery driver laughed it off, and so did everyone else, including the neighbors who’d heard the commotion.
