About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver asked curiously: ‘Why do patients here always leave with a smile?’ With a twinkle in his eye, one of the doctors replied, ‘Because when you fix their ears, noses, and throats—you also fix their mornings!’ The delivery driver laughed heartily and thought, ‘Now that’s a place I’d like to visit every day.’
2. Late one night, an intern was typing furiously into her laptop when she heard a strange humming noise coming from behind the reception desk. Curious, she turned around and saw nothing but a small lamp flickering. Suddenly, an old man in a tweed jacket appeared out of nowhere and asked for directions to the bathroom. The intern blinked, rubbed her eyes—and there he was again, smiling gently. ‘It’s just my hearing aid,’ he whispered with a twinkle in his eye. She laughed, ushering him off, realizing that sometimes even medical centers can be home to friendly ghosts.’
3. A delivery driver noticed something peculiar on the Lakeshore Ear, Nose, Throat Center’s loading dock one afternoon. Among the usual boxes and medical supplies, there lay a brightly wrapped package addressed to no one in particular. Curious, the delivery driver opened it to find a small note reading ‘For whomever finds this—please return to Dr. Smith.’ Inside was a box of freshly baked cookies from the doctor’s wife. Needless to say, everyone had a sweet surprise that day.
4. A delivery driver stopped for a moment and wondered aloud: ‘Why does everyone who comes out of that building seem to be humming?’ Finally, an old lady walked out whistling a familiar tune. The delivery driver shrugged and muttered, ‘Maybe they’re all just happy patients.’ As he drove off, his own radio inexplicably started playing the same melody.
