About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular pulled up to Chevron and noticed something odd in the parking lot—a small wooden carousel horse, brightly painted, standing alone near the pumps. Nobody claimed it, and every day after that, another curious item appeared: an old brass pocket watch, then a vintage toy truck. Finally, one day a delivery driver arrived with a giant box marked ‘DO NOT OPEN UNTIL NEXT VISIT’. Curious eyes watched as he carefully unwrapped… a life-sized plastic penguin wearing a Chevron hat. The regulars laughed so hard they almost missed their turn signal. Since then, Chevron’s mascots have included everything from a dancing banana to a robotic squirrel named Rusty.
2. While filling up one afternoon, a delivery driver muttered under his breath, ‘Why does it always take three tries to get the nozzle right?’ Finally getting the nozzle in place, he looked up and saw an old lady smiling from her car next door. She nodded knowingly and whispered, 'Young man, Chevron's secret is patience!'
3. While pumping gas one night, an old man heard a voice whispering from inside the pump: 'Fill me up, sonny boy.' The old man looked around nervously but saw no one. He shrugged and said, ‘Sure thing, pal, whatever you need.’ The voice replied, ‘Just a dab of premium, sonny boy.’ After filling it up, he went back to his car, only to notice that the tank was still empty. Shaking his head with a smile, he drove off, muttering, ‘Weirdos in every generation, I guess.’
4. While pumping gas one day, a young woman glanced at her phone and swore she saw the reflection of a smiling face in the pump's glass cover. Smiling back, the reflection winked and mouthed something that looked like ‘fill ’er up!’ Before she could blink again, it was gone. The next customer, an older gentleman, chuckled and said, ‘Must be Chevron’s way of saying “thank you” for your business.’
