A delivery driver noticed it first and mentioned seeing a strange shadow moving inside the clinic. Curious neighbors started gathering around the fence, whispering excitedly. Suddenly, an old tabby cat appeared from behind the counter, yawning and stretching lazily. ‘Oh no,’ said the vet, rubbing sleepy eyes, ‘it’s just Papaya, our resident night owl.’

2. In the dim light of late afternoon, a delivery driver noticed something unusual on the vet’s parking lot. Among the usual boxes and crates lay an old, dusty music box. The delivery driver picked it up curiously, thinking maybe someone had forgotten it. Inside was a note scribbled in childish handwriting: 'Please take care of my papaya.' Turns out, it belonged to a little girl next door who loved both animals and fruit equally.

3. At dusk in Carmel Valley, while closing the clinic door, Dr. Papaya heard an odd humming sound coming from the back room. Curious, she peered inside and found her receptionist dozing off with a strange smile on her face. Curiously approaching, Dr. Papaya noticed that her receptionist was holding a small box. ‘What’s this?’ she asked. The receptionist yawned, mumbling something about a ‘special delivery’ before nodding off again. Turning the box around, Dr. Papaya found it contained nothing more than a sleeping kitten.’Awww,’ she smiled, deciding to keep the little guy as a surprise for the next staff meeting.'

4. At dusk in Carmel Valley, as Dr. Papaya locked up the clinic, she overheard a familiar voice whispering from the shadows: ‘Doc, you missed another one!’ Curious, Dr. Papaya turned around and saw only the night breeze rustling through the trees. But then, out of nowhere, her old friend, the neighborhood cat Mr. Whiskers, sauntered up and meowed, ‘Just wanted to remind ya!’ The vet laughed, shaking her head, and together they watched the last rays of sun dip below the hills.
