One morning, a delivery driver asked the receptionist: ‘Why does everyone here seem so drowsy?’ She smiled and replied: ‘They’re not drowsy— they’re just waiting for their turn in the Baylor Scott & White Medical Clinic’s secret sleep chamber.’ Curious, the driver decided to wait his turn. Soon enough, he found himself drifting off too. When he finally woke up, groggy but relieved, he asked the receptionist why everyone was smiling. With a twinkle in her eye, she whispered, ‘It’s because our secret sleep chamber is actually just a comfy couch with the best nap music.’
2. One day, an elderly gentleman walked into the waiting room with a peculiar expression on his face. Over the intercom came a voice announcing, 'Attention please—your appointment is now in the cafeteria!' The old man looked around confusedly, then someone from the hallway called out, ‘Sir, that’s where they serve coffee!’ With a relieved smile, he shuffled off towards the cafeteria. Later, when asked why he’d come here for an appointment, he simply replied, “Well, I thought it was time for my annual check-up… and maybe some cake.”
3. In the early afternoon, a little girl pointed excitedly and whispered to her mother: ‘Mommy, why is that doctor talking to himself in the hallway?’ The mother smiled gently and replied, 'Honey, he's not really talking to himself—he's just practicing his speeches for tonight’s patient presentations.' The little girl nodded thoughtfully before running off to explore the colorful posters on the wall.
4. At dawn, when most clinics are quiet, a nurse noticed something unusual on the security camera: a small bird had perched itself right outside the entrance, chirping insistently. Curious, she approached the door and opened it slightly—immediately the little fellow flapped in, straight into the waiting room. Before anyone could react, the bird took off again, flying around the ceiling like an impromptu tour guide. Finally, it landed on top of a nearby stethoscope, causing a doctor to exclaim, ‘Good Lord, what’s next?’ The whole staff burst out laughing, realizing that maybe today wasn’t such a bad day after all.
