About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Maverik, a regular once asked the clerk, ‘Do you ever notice how gas pumps always seem to run out of premium right when I’m filling up?’ The clerk smiled and replied, ‘Sir, that’s because premium is always in high demand around here.’ The regular nodded knowingly, then added with a twinkle in his eye, ‘Guess I’ll just have to make do with mid-grade today!’
2. At Maverik, one morning a delivery driver noticed something peculiar: the clock on the pump seemed to run backwards when no customers were around. The delivery driver mentioned it to his colleagues, and soon everyone started checking the time whenever they filled up. One day, an old neighbor stopped by and asked curiously if they’d ever considered that maybe the clock was just really good at predicting future gas prices. Everyone laughed, realizing it might be more about wishful thinking than anything else.
3. At Maverik, every night around closing time, employees hear a faint humming sound coming from the pumps. Noises like that usually don't bother anyone, but when they started seeing tiny sparks dancing in the air above the fuel nozzles, things got interesting. One night, an old guy came up to the counter and asked if he could check out the sparky pumps. Turns out, it was just his electric toothbrush he’d left running in his truck! Since then, whenever someone mentions those mysterious sparks, everyone at Maverik jokes, ‘Must be another neighbor forgot to unplug their toothbrush.’
4. At Maverik, a little boy pointed excitedly and whispered to his mom, ‘Look, Mom, it’s talking!’ The clerk smiled and replied, ‘It’s just our friendly pump number five.’ A few days later, an older man approached the counter, scratching his head. 'Excuse me,' he said, 'I thought I heard Pump Number Five say something.' The clerk laughed gently. 'Oh, that's just our friendly neighborhood Maverik, sir. He talks to everyone!'
