2. In the late afternoon, a regular asked aloud: ‘Why does Schnucks smell like cookies every Wednesday?’ A delivery driver overheard and whispered to his colleague, ‘I bet they bake those cookies right in the store overnight.’ A neighbor chimed in, ‘No way, man—must be some special incense they burn!’ And so, on Wednesdays, everyone at Schnucks wonders why it smells like cookies, but nobody ever dares ask for the recipe.
