About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a delivery driver unloaded boxes of kimchi, he muttered under his breath, 'Who orders this much kimchi?' Little did he know that every night, around closing time, the supermarket shelves mysteriously restocked themselves. Finally, one evening, an elderly neighbor noticed something odd and decided to investigate. She found herself surrounded by rows upon rows of freshly stacked kimchi, all neatly arranged with a note reading, ‘Thank you for your patience—we hope you enjoy our special delivery!’
2. In the early hours one night, a delivery driver struggled with heavy crates of ginseng tea. As he fumbled outside Dong-A Supermarket, a puzzled neighbor asked: 'Why is it always so dark inside there?' Finally managing to get the last crate inside, the driver turned around—only to see the neighbor holding an empty bottle of ginseng tea and smiling slyly. ‘I thought you said this place was selling special midnight deals,’ they teased. The delivery man sheepishly laughed, realizing his mistake had been as clear as daylight.
3. One day, an elderly Korean lady whispered to her shopping basket, ‘I hope these noodles can teach themselves to cook!’ Suddenly, packets of ramen started jumping off the shelves and into the air, twirling like little dancers! Startled customers ran for cover as the noodles whizzed past their heads. A delivery driver later commented, 'It was like something outta a movie!' But the old lady just smiled and said, “Finally, they’re listening!”
4. One afternoon, while stocking shelves, a young employee overheard an old man muttering, 'These ginseng roots look like they could power a small car!' Curious, the kid asked him, ‘Really? How many cars do you think one root can run?’ The old man replied with a twinkle in his eye, ‘Young’un, if I knew that, I'd be driving my own grocery store!’ Turns out, it was just an old guy having fun with his favorite herb.
