About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when most people were still dreaming, an old man walked into LensCrafters and asked for a pair of glasses that would make him invisible. The clerk raised an eyebrow but said nothing. The clerk smiled mysteriously and pulled out a vintage pair of tortoiseshell frames. ‘These,’ he whispered, ‘are from 1963.’ The old man put them on, took one look in the mirror, then burst out laughing—only to discover his reflection was now wearing the glasses! When he finally left, everyone in the shop had a new pair of spectacles with a slight quirk in their lenses.’
2. At closing time, when the last customer had left, a delivery driver noticed something strange: every night, just before locking up, a faint humming sound would come from inside LensCrafters. Curious, he peered through the window and saw an old grandfather clock in the corner, its hands frozen at exactly 9:15 PM—closing time for LensCrafters. The humming was coming from there. When he touched it, the clock chimed softly, ‘Welcome… next door.’ Turned out, the neighbor’s dog thought the clock was his new favorite toy.
3. At closing time, when the cleaning staff was packing up, they found an old pair of glasses sitting on the shelf—with a tiny note attached: ‘Please fix my vision, and return me to the person who lost me.’ The next morning, one of the assistants picked them up and joked, ‘Who knows whose eyes this lens is destined for?’ Later that day, while fitting a regular with new frames, she accidentally placed the old glasses in his bag. The customer drove home, put on the glasses, and exclaimed, ‘Hey, I can see that tree!’ Turns out it was the delivery driver’s glasses—he’d been squinting ever since his last pickup.
4. At closing time, when the cleaning lady was turning off the lights, she heard a soft humming coming from the display case. Curious, she approached and saw a pair of glasses gently glowing in the dark. Upon investigation, she found nothing but an old pair of reading glasses left behind by a regular. As she switched on the light again, they stopped glowing and started whispering ‘Where’s my box?’ The cleaning lady smiled and thought, ‘Next time I’ll bring you home.’
