About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a little girl walked into Turtle Bread Company and pointed excitedly at the display case. The baker looked puzzled until he noticed something odd: every loaf of bread had tiny turtle footprints on top. The baker scratched his head, then laughed out loud. ‘I must’ve been dreaming,’ he thought, but when he checked the next batch, there they were again—tiny little prints! Word spread quickly around town, and soon everyone was coming in just to see the magical bread. A delivery driver even brought over some real turtles as a joke, which started an unexpected trend: now people leave their pets’ paw prints on everything from cookies to cupcakes.’
2. One day, an elderly gentleman entered Turtle Bread Company and asked the baker, ‘Why do your turtles always look so happy?’ The baker smiled mysteriously and replied, ‘Because they know where the best bread is baked!’ A few days later, a delivery driver arrived with a frown on his face. ‘What’s wrong?’ asked the baker curiously. ‘I can never find that darn turtle!’ he complained. The baker laughed heartily, ‘He knows exactly where to wait for fresh bread!’
3. While waiting for his usual loaf of sourdough, a regular noticed something peculiar on the counter: a tiny turtle had crawled out from under a display case and was calmly munching on a freshly baked croissant. The baker, startled but amused, gently picked up the little fellow and placed him outside near some flowers. Later that day, as the regular collected his bread, he found a note on the counter: ‘Thank you for your patience—our new employee is taking a break.’
4. While waiting for her daily croissant, a woman noticed a tiny turtle slowly making its way across the counter. ‘Excuse me,’ she said to the baker, ‘is that your pet?’ ‘No, ma’am,’ replied the baker with a smile, ‘he’s our little helper. He keeps an eye on things while I’m baking.’ Just then, another customer—a delivery driver—walked in and exclaimed, ‘Hey, isn’t that the same turtle from last week?’ The baker laughed, ‘Yep, he loves coming here!’
