A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Clark Fuel Station, a regular noticed something odd one morning. As he filled up his car, his young daughter pointed excitedly towards the pump. ‘Daddy,’ she whispered, ‘the gas nozzle is winking at us!’ The father looked closer and saw that the sun was glinting off the metal just so, creating the illusion of movement. He smiled down at his daughter and said, 'It’s just the sun playing tricks on us.' But as they drove away, he glanced back at the pump—and swore it gave them both a little wave.
2. At Clark Fuel Station, early one foggy morning, an old delivery driver pulled up and started filling his truck. Suddenly, the gas pump began talking in a deep, gravelly voice—warning him about ‘bad roads ahead’. The old man looked around suspiciously but no one was there. He laughed it off, thinking maybe he was just hearing things from fatigue. As he drove away, though, he noticed an unfamiliar smile on the face of his neighbor who had stopped by for gas too. Turning back, he waved good-naturedly, realizing it must’ve been an early-morning prankster at Clark’s.
3. At Clark Fuel Station, late one night, a security guard swore he heard laughter coming from the empty tanks. Curious, he peered inside and saw nothing but dark reflections. Suddenly, an old man in overalls appeared out of nowhere, smiling and wiping his hands on a rag. ‘Just checking your levels,’ he said with a twinkle in his eye. The guard relaxed, realizing it was just Clark, the friendly neighborhood mechanic who sometimes helped out at night.
4. At Clark Fuel Station, a regular exclaimed in surprise as he approached the pump: ‘I thought I saw that same truck here yesterday!’ A delivery driver laughed and shook his head: ‘Nah, must be my eyes playing tricks on me.’ Just then, an old neighbor walked up with a smile: ‘Hey, you’re not the only one seeing things around here—Clark’s pumps seem to refuel themselves!’
