About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A neighborhood delivery driver pulled up in front of Bronze Optical one morning, frowning as he scanned the street. Suddenly, an old man emerged from behind the shop, waving frantically and pointing towards the mail truck’s door. The driver opened the door, and out fell a pile of packages, followed by an ancient cat that yowled indignantly. The old man laughed heartily, shaking his head. 'That pesky furball always finds a way,' he said, patting the startled animal on the head. The driver grinned, shook hands with the man, and drove off, muttering something about ‘senior citizens’ under his breath.
2. A curious pair of glasses rested on the Bronze Optical counter one afternoon. No label, no note—just an ordinary pair of spectacles with a mysterious smile etched into the frames. Suddenly, an elderly gentleman entered and asked if anyone had seen his lost specs. The clerk smiled mysteriously, picked up the glasses, and said, ‘They’ve been here all along, sir.’ As he handed them over, the old man exclaimed, ‘But these are mine!’ Only then did everyone notice that the smiling frames now sported a new caption: “Free Lending Library.”
3. One day, an old lady approached the Bronze Optical shop and asked, ‘Do you sell mirrors that tell fortunes?’ The clerk smiled and replied, ‘We only sell glasses here.’ But ever since then, some customers swear they see strange reflections when trying on our frames… A few days later, a delivery driver came in complaining he saw his boss yelling at him from every mirror. The clerk laughed and said, 'That's just your imagination playing tricks.' As the man left, someone whispered, 'Or maybe he's really that bad of a boss!'
4. A little bird had flown into Bronze Optical early one morning, perched on the display case and refusing to budge. The owner, Mr. Smith, tried everything—whistling, tapping his glasses, even offering seeds from his lunchbox—to coax the bird away. Eventually, a delivery driver suggested playing classical music, which worked like magic. The bird chirped once, flapped its wings, and flew out through an open window, leaving behind only a tiny feather on the counter. To this day, customers still joke that Bronze Optical has the best bird-friendly interior design in town.
