About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular at Victoria Laundry overheard an ironing machine whispering, ‘Fold me right or I’ll never be dry.’ Curious, our regular asked it again the next day, and this time the machine replied, ‘Just press me gently, won’t you?’ Soon enough, everyone in town started bringing their clothes here—even the delivery driver noticed that his shirts were coming out softer than ever before. And when a neighbor remarked on how well pressed her sheets looked, the owner simply smiled and said, “It’s just our little secret between us machines.”
2. One day, a delivery driver pulled up to Victoria Laundry and exclaimed, 'This place is haunting my deliveries!' Upon investigation, it turned out that every time he delivered packages here, his radio would mysteriously switch to an old-timey station playing only one song—‘My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean.’ A regular passing by laughed and said, ‘That’s not a ghost, man—it’s just Victoire Laundry’s vintage radio!’ Ever since then, everyone jokes that the place has better taste in music than most humans.
3. One afternoon, a little girl visiting her grandmother pointed excitedly at the dryer, whispering, ‘Grandma, look! It’s dancing!’ Her grandmother smiled and said gently, ‘Oh darling, that’s just Mr. Johnson, our friendly neighborhood repairman inside fixing things.’ The little girl nodded thoughtfully, then ran off to join her toys. From then on, whenever anyone asked why there was always music playing in Victoria Laundry, they’d only smile and say, “It’s just Mr. Johnson doing his thing.”
4. A neighbor passing by Victoria Laundry stopped in surprise as she heard one of the washing machines softly singing, ‘Wring out your worries, spin them away!’ Curious, she peered inside and saw an elderly gentleman folding clothes with a big smile on his face. ‘Never knew laundries could be so cheerful,’ he said, handing her neatly folded shirts. A delivery driver passing by chuckled, shaking his head: ‘That’s Mr. Johnson. He always makes friends with the machines.’
