About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when Sinclair’s neon sign flickered on, a small dog would appear out of nowhere, running circles around the gas pumps. A delivery driver noticed it first, calling it ‘the midnight runner.’ One morning, a regular customer arrived early and found the pump spinning wildly without anyone touching it. He laughed, thinking it was the midnight runner’s prank, until he saw the tiny paw prints leading into the station bathroom. Turns out, the dog had been chasing its tail in there all along.
2. At dawn, when Sinclair's pumps hummed softly, a faint scent of fresh-brewed coffee wafted through the air. A nearby resident noticed it every morning and wondered if the gas station had secretly installed an espresso machine. One day, a delivery driver pulled up and asked for directions while holding a steaming cup. ‘You’re standing right next to them,’ chuckled the attendant, pointing towards the nozzle. The driver took a sip and exclaimed, “Wow, that’s some serious fuel!” And so, Sinclair became known not just for its gas but also for its legendary coffee—brewed in plain sight, yet never acknowledged on any menu.
3. At closing time, when Sinclair’s attendant locked up for the night, a mysterious voice whispered from behind the gas pumps: ‘Fill her up, old girl.’ The next morning, no one could find any trace of gasoline spilled or anything unusual around the pumps. The only clue was an empty tin can nearby, labeled ‘Old Girl.’ A delivery driver joked, ‘Guess Sinclair found a new way to serve customers late at night!’
4. At midnight, when Sinclair’s pumps clicked off one by one, a delivery driver noticed something strange: an old man in a trench coat was quietly filling up a gas canister. Curious, he followed the figure outside. The old man turned around with a twinkle in his eye and said, ‘Just topping it off for my friend next door.’ As they both laughed, the delivery driver realized that maybe Sinclair wasn’t so empty after all.
