About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while loading groceries into her car, an elderly lady from Kroger’s parking lot noticed something peculiar: every time she approached her vehicle, it seemed as if someone were whispering her name softly from inside. Curious but not alarmed, she peeked through the window and saw only empty seats. Suddenly, a young delivery driver walked past with a carton of milk, laughing and saying, ‘Mrs. Jones, your groceries are here!’ Turns out, he had called out to her in the store earlier, and his voice carried across the parking lot. The old lady smiled, shook her head, and drove home, thinking, ‘Kroger might be magical after all.’
2. In the early hours of one foggy morning, a delivery driver pulling up to Kroger noticed something odd—a faint, sugary scent wafting through the air. Curious, he followed his nose into an empty aisle and found a lone carton of strawberry yogurt, its lid slightly ajar. Smiling, he thought, ‘Someone must be testing their taste buds before dawn!’ Turning around, he waved cheerfully to no one in particular and drove off, leaving behind just enough yogurt for another late-night adventure.
3. At closing time, when the last cashier had gone home, a night security guard heard something strange coming from the produce section. It sounded like someone whispering softly among the bananas. Curious, he approached and saw nothing but bananas gently swaying in the breeze. Then, out of nowhere, an old banana skin slipped from one bunch and landed on the floor with a soft plop. Startled, the guard laughed aloud, realizing it was just the wind playing tricks. From then on, whenever anyone asked if Kroger was haunted, the answer was always the same: ‘Only by bananas!’
4. At dusk, as a regular was scanning his items, he overheard an unusual conversation between two cashiers.
"Did you hear?", whispered one.
"No, what?", asked the other. “I just saw Mr. Johnson from accounting,” said the first cashier with a giggle. “He thought he could sneak in some extra bananas without paying!” The second cashier shook her head and smiled. ‘Next time, maybe he’ll bring us cookies instead.’
