She looked up, smiling warmly. ‘No, dear, I’m just checking if my ghosts are well-behaved today.’ With that, she waved goodbye, leaving him standing there, slightly confused yet amused.

One day, a regular asked aloud as he scanned his groceries: ‘Why does it feel like someone’s always watching me from those ceiling mirrors in Kroger?’ Suddenly, an old delivery driver chuckled and said, ‘Oh, that’s just Mr. Jenkins up there—keeps an eye on things for us.’ The regular looked up and saw an elderly gentleman waving cheerfully from one of the ceiling-mounted mirrors. 4.
