About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the pumps hummed softly and the neon lights flickered, an old voice would occasionally crackle over BP’s intercom: ‘Last tank of gas for tonight… and maybe forever.’ No one knew who it was or why they were saying it, but every now and then, just before closing time, the words would send a chill down the spine of a regular. One evening, an elderly delivery driver pulled up and asked curiously, ‘Who’s that on the intercom?’ Just then, the familiar voice said, “And don’t forget to fill your coffee thermos while you’re here.” Everyone laughed, realizing it was probably just the night shift manager, reminding everyone to grab their free hot chocolate before closing time.
2. At closing time, as the last customers left, a voice crackled over the PA: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, please be advised that our gas station is now open for paranormal activity.’ Soon enough, an old man in a tweed jacket walked up to the counter and asked for directions. The cashier smiled knowingly, replying, 'Head out back, sir—we’ve got a whole ghostly network here!' And with that, everyone burst into laughter, realizing it was just another night at BP's Paranormal Pitstop.
3. At BP, where the gas pumped like clockwork but the conversations never did, a sign appeared one morning: ‘Fill up your tank, not your ego.’ No one knew who put it there, but every fill-up became a philosophical debate. One day, an old man walked in and asked the attendant, ‘Does this sign mean I can fill my ego with air too?’ Everyone burst out laughing, realizing that sometimes our egos do need some pumping up after all.
4. At BP, where the gas pumped like clockwork but the conversations never did, one morning a regular asked aloud, ‘Why does the cashier always nod off just after saying “Your total is…”?’ That evening, another customer quipped, ‘Maybe she’s just practicing for her future career as an oil painting!’ The regular laughed so hard he almost forgot to pay, until the cashier finally woke up and said, ‘Your total is…’ again.
